MG, MI, MO & MR Sprag Clutches from Suma bearing company is a sealed, sprag type freewheel, bearing supported using two 60..ZZ series grease lubricated bearings.

Units are delivered grease lubricated ready for installation. units are intended as multipurpose, to be used in various applications. A typical mounting arrangement is shown on the following page. The inner race is keyed to the shaft. The inside diameter of the outer race (dimension D4) should be used as the mounting register for the connected parts (sprocket, pulley, gear, torque arm...). The mounting spigot should be to g6 tolerance.

Q1: Are these sprag clutches ready to install out of the box?

A: Yes. All MG, MI, MO, MR series units are delivered pre-greased and sealed with two ZZ bearings. No additional lubrication is needed for normal operating conditions.

Q2: What is the difference between MG300A and MI300A?

A: In MG300A, the outer race overruns (inner race drives). In MI300A, the inner race overruns (outer race fixed). Choose MI when the connected load has high inertia and needs to freewheel on the inner race.

Q3: Can I use MO500A to replace an existing Formsprag clutch?

A: Yes, MO series shares common dimensions with major brands. Please verify bore size, keyway, and torque capacity (1175 lb-ft for MO500A). Contact us with your original part number for cross-reference.

Q4: What is the maximum overrunning speed for MR600A?

A: For MR600A, maximum overrunning speed is 2100 min⁻¹ on the inner race and 700 min⁻¹ on the outer race. Do not exceed these limits to avoid sprag damage.

Q5: Do you offer custom bores or keyways for MG700A?

A: Yes, Suma provides custom bores, keyways, and special tolerances. Standard stock bores are listed (e.g., 1.250" to 2.937"). Contact us for non-standard requirements.
